(An Extended Classroom)
University of Islam students are taught all phases of sewing and tailoring at the United Nation of Islam's "Your Sewing Factory". The basic principles are taught first (Pattern Selection, Cutting, Pinning, Sewing and Pressing). The students start with four selections; a skirt, top/tunic, pants, and a simple dress.
Your Sewing Factory production department produces custom designed clothing and home accessories. Everything from Dresses, Gowns, Hats, Slippers, House Shoes, Curtains, Mattress Pads, Pillows, Shower Curtains, Garment Bags, Luggage (Multi-Purpose Bags), Couch Covers, Table Cloths, Place Mats, Napkins, Cosmetic Bags, Handkerchief, Bath Towels, Face Towels, Hand Towels, Laundry bags, Rain Ponchos, Athletic Wear, Coats, Head Accessories, Gloves, Shoe Coverings, Jewelry to match Buttons, Bow Ties, Belts, Men's Suits, Men's Formal Suits, Men's Pants, Suspenders and Baby Clothing which are available and produced on site.

Students perform duties at the University's Extended Classroom (Your Service Station). They supply motor vehicles with fuel, lubricants, and parts and their duties most often performed include pumping gasoline, cleaning windshields, checking the water levels in the radiators and batteries, checking the oil level in engines and the fluid level in automatic transmissions, checking tires for correct air pressure, and handling payments from customers.
The students learn from skilled Mechanics how to do minor maintenance and repair work such as changing oil, rotating and repairing tires and replacing mufflers, etc.
Product Development is an Elective in the University of Islam. The Students participate in developing new products and they are constantly REFINING the current production line. UNOI Productions include Soap, Lip Balm, Tooth Paste, Deodorant, Air Freshener, Lotion, un-petroleum Jelly, Hair Oil, Shampoo, Conditioner, and vegetable wax candles.
